High Fives on Henderson Avenue is closing in January after celebrating its 10-year anniversary in August.
According to The Dallas Morning News, this change was made so This & That Hospitality, which owned the sports bar, can focus on its other concept Burger Schmurger, which was previously a pop-up in High Fives before opening its own brick and mortar location earlier this year. Unlike the group’s other concepts — Hendy’s replacing Sfuzzi and Boogies replacing The Whippersnapper — High Fives isn’t expected to open as a new This & That bar or restaurant.
High Fives’ exact closing date is uncertain. It is expected to stay open on days when Texas Tech University football games are happening until the end of the season, according to The Dallas Morning News. Locals can view Tech’s basketball games at Hendy’s moving forward. Hours in December will be 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays. There will be a watch party of the Texas Tech game on New Year’s Day.
As we’ve reported on before, Henderson Avenue is going through some changes. Read more about that here and here.
