Rye in Lowest Greenville is closing on March 7.

The Michelin “Selected Restaurant” will be replaced by the expansion of neighboring cocktail bar Apothecary, which is under the same brand as Rye, according to a Dallas Morning News article. Rye, known for small plates and its tasting menu, opened in 2021 in Dallas, but it existed before in McKinney. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives last year, and Rye’s bar manager received a Michelin award for “exceptional cocktails” in 2024.

“Rye isn’t gone forever,” creative director and co-owner Tanner Agar said in a company statement per The Dallas Morning News, “but we do hope you’ll come see us … before this big change takes place.”

Rye will continue on in pop-ups until a new space is found, according to The Dallas Morning News. Ahead of its closure, a new menu will debut Jan. 27 and will include dishes from its first year.

Apothecary is scheduled to open in the new space on March 13 with a “moodier” design. Agar told The Dallas Morning News that this change is expected to be more suitable for larger groups. The current Apothecary space will be an exclusive back room with more adventurous cocktails. Eventually, the plan is to offer a “omakase cocktail experience” or a reservation-only drink menu.
