LHHS band
A Lake Highlands High School freshman band student was hit by a car last week while walking home from a school event. Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for his medical expenses.
Jude plays tuba in the Wildcat Band, and he was leaving Band 101, which is an introductory program designed to welcome and orient incoming 8th grade musicians from Lake Highlands Middle School, Forest Meadow and private schools into the high school band experience. The students play music together, learn about high school band life and build excitement for future involvement. The goal of the evening is to help future band LHHS band members feel at home before they begin their freshman year.
The hit-and-run accident has left Jude and his family facing unexpected medical bills, and his recovery will be physically and financially challenging. Jude’s mother is working to support him and his two siblings, and the financial strain is taking its toll.
