Winter Preparedness

School Closings
DISD has announced that its schools and offices will be closed Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, due to winter weather. Check back regularly via the District’s website for decisions regarding further closure dates. In addition, Compass School of Texas, Greenhill School, and Lamplighter School have announced closures on Monday, January 26. For schools not listed here, visit individual websites for information.
Library and Park Closings
Dallas public libraries, including the Preston Royal Branch Library and Park Forest Branch Library, will be evaluating weather conditions on an ongoing basis to determine daily openings and closures. Check back online regularly for updates. Visit the University Park Public Library website for updates on University Park city closures.All Dallas parks and recreation centers will also be monitoring weather and road conditions to determine operational status. City Services Updates
The City of Dallas has announced that all garbage, recycling, and bulk collections are suspended Monday, January 26. Service is expected to resume on Tuesday, January 27, with a delayed start. Additional links and information on citywide winter weather preparations and closures, including Emergency Management & Crisis Response (EMCR), transportation services, Dallas Water Utilities, Atmos, and Oncor, are available online.
