Located on the campus of Southern Methodist University, the Meadows Museum is home to one of the largest collections of Spanish art outside of Spain. This hidden gem in our own backyard showcases countless masterpieces from the Middle Ages through modern times. New this spring, the Meadows Museum has announced a full season of public programs in conjunction with Raimundo de Madrazo, a retrospective exhibit dedicated to a celebrated painter of the Belle Époque.

Though the name Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta may not be as familiar as other artists of his time, the Spanish master’s portraits made him a favorite among members of European and American society around the turn of the 20th century. This first-ever retrospective will showcase nearly 75 works, spanning Madrazo’s career from its origins in Madrid to Paris and the United States. The Meadows Museum represents the only venue outside of Madrid to host the exhibition.
