Halperin Park is seeking help from local artists to create a community-based mural for their East Dock offices.

The project should reflect Oak Cliff’s history, landmarks and cultural importance and represent multiple neighborhoods, stories and experiences across both sides of I-35, according to their website. Local individual artists or artist teams with a connection to Oak Cliff or the surrounding area are eligible.

Submission requirements include a brief written proposal on the mural concept, sketches or visual references, proposed budget for materials and a short artist bio including examples of past work and their connection to Oak Cliff. Artists will be compensated for materials up to $500 and an additional $2,000 for their work.

The proposal deadline is March 9, with the installation timeline expected to last until April 3. To apply, visit halperinpark.org/call-for-artists-1.
