Construction at the Dallas Wings’ new practice facility at Joey Georgusis Park will begin soon, according to an article by The Dallas Morning News.

Site mobilization began May 15, and excavation is underway. The team is expected to move into the facility on April 16, 2027, making the facility available for the 2027 WNBA season.

In an previous agreement with the city, the Wings were going to move into the Memorial Auditorium in downtown for the 2026 season, in addition to a practice facility close to the new location. However, soon after the site’s ceremonial groundbreaking in September 2025, the city informed the Wings that the Memorial Auditorium and the Oak Cliff practice facility would not be ready for the initial deadline of spring 2026.

The Dallas City Council adjusted the agreement in March 2026 to have the city contribute up to $57 million toward the new training facility, leaving the Wings to take over the location’s development and pay the remaining costs. Currently, the Wings have used $52 million of the city’s money and $27 million of the organization’s own to fund the endeavor.

The Wings are looking at using the facility in spring 2027 and hope to move in full into the Memorial Auditorium in 2028.
