Need New Year’s Eve plans? The Dallas Loop-the-Lake Foundation has a way to celebrate the end of 2025 for a cause.

The foundation’s 22nd annual New Year’s Eve Run will take place at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at The Filter Building on the southwest side of White Rock Lake. Proceeds from the run will benefit the nonprofit Marathon Kids, which is a free program that aims to help children get physically active and operates in schools and community organizations.

“The Loop-the-Lake Run is an inspiring demonstration of community spirit and commitment,” Marathon Kids CEO Jason Daniel said in a press release. “Seeing the running community — from the dedicated organizers led by Don Hunter to every sponsor and runner on the course — come together to celebrate fitness and give back is profoundly uplifting. This enduring partnership directly fuels our mission, allowing Marathon Kids to empower over 400,000 children nationwide, including more than 32,000 right here in the DFW area, to build healthy, active futures. We are immensely grateful for the powerful impact this event continues to have and look forward to the 22nd Annual Loop-the-Lake Run.”

People of all ages can run or walk as much of the 15K route around White Rock Lake as they’d like. Participants should also stick around for the celebration afterwards, which includes refreshments and a raffle for prizes. Space is limited, and registration ahead of the event is required here. The sign-up price is $55 and includes a T-shirt and raffle entry. Donations of over $150 will get you into the “Grand Prize” raffles.

“We love seeing runners of all ages come together around White Rock Lake each year to celebrate health, friendship and giving back,” said Don Hunter, Dallas Loop-the-Lake Foundation event director and co-founder of the run, in a press release. “It’s incredible to be hosting our 22nd year — Dallas’s longest-running New Year’s Eve fun run — and we can’t wait to welcome the community for another memorable morning while supporting an organization doing amazing work with kids.”
