If you’re looking for a piece of Oak Cliff history, an Austinite recently submitted something of interest to auction.

In a post shared on the Instagram account @dead.or.alive.cloth this week, an Austin Goodwill find (purchased for about $10) will be up for auction next month. That find is a 1957 “Yellow Jacket” Yearbook for Arlington Heights High School that features sophomore Lee Harvey Oswald.

The yearbook previously sold for $750 in January 2024, with an estimated value of $1,000 to $2,000.

According to The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, an image of Oswald located on page 104 of the book with classmate Janet Bolin was widely published following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Within the edition, Oswald does not have a standard student portrait in the yearbook because he left school upon his acceptance to the Marines that year.
