Charity Eden in concert

Two years ago, Lauren Goin, then a senior at Lake Highlands High School, partnered with classmates and students from neighboring high schools to host Hope Healing Cancer with Music, a one-day festival designed to raise funds and awareness to fight blood cancer diseases. Her teammates graduated and went off to college, but their project inspired younger students, who raised even more money in 2025. The next round of students has stepped up in a big way, and they’re planning the biggest Hope Healing Cancer with Music festival yet.

Funds raised will go to Blood Cancer United, formerly the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Two student teams are hosting the event, with LHHS junior Ellie Brown and Richardson High junior Hailey Tillery leading “Blood Sweat & Cures,” and Hockaday junior Lauren Lockhart leading “CureQuest.” Tillery’s sister is a leukemia survivor, and multiple LHHS students participate on both teams.

The music festival will be held Sunday, Feb. 22 at the Granada Theater, 3524 Greenville Avenue. Bands will perform from noon to 6 p.m., and doors open at 11 a.m. There will be a silent auction, games to win gift cards, a full cash bar with mimosas and Bloody Marys and more.

Performers include Charity Eden, Danny Joseph, Remy Reilly, Phantomelo and Grits. Mike Leslie, WFAA sports reporter, will serve as emcee.

Tickets are available online here.
