The James Beard Foundation announced semifinalists today for the Restaurant and Chef Awards.
Since 1990, the awards have highlighted the nation’s top restaurant and bar professionals in culinary excellence, according to their website.
In Dallas, six restaurants and individuals were selected, including two that serve Oak Cliff.
For the Outstanding Bar category, Xamán Café’s Ayahuasca Cantina made the list, with Lucia’s Maggie Huff named in the Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker category.
Nominees will be announced on March 31, with winners celebrated at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards Ceremony in June at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
