February is an important month for Kettle Art Gallery in Deep Ellum.
It all starts with the annual one-night-only event “For the Love of Kettle,” where you can snag original local art for $75 each at 7 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. And there’s no pre-sales, so come ready to grab what you can while you can.
“Kettle’s role as a launch pad for emerging Texas artists over the past 20 years is so important, especially in such a tough business,” Kettle Art founder and legendary Deep Ellum muralist Frank Campagna said in an email to the Lakewood/East Dallas Advocate. “We find this particular event to always be inspiring for both artists and art lovers when they come together like this. Many find this fundraising event as a unique opportunity to purchase a piece of art from local talents at an affordable price is truly special.”
Part two is another one-day-only event — “For the Love of Artists,” 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. The exhibit is exclusively for the artists who donated their works to “For the Love of Kettle” to show their art at their price with no sales commission taken as a “thank you” to them. And if you miss out on buying a particular artist’s work at “For the Love of Kettle,” consider this your second chance.
