The Dallas Public Library is joining the Friends of the Dallas Public Library in seeking feedback to help shape the future of services.
Community members are invited to participate in an online survey to provide input on how library services are used and what potential changes would affect them. This is the first community feedback opportunity from DPL following the proposal released in January that revealed what branches could close in the shift to a regional model.
The proposal recommended the closures of the Oak Lawn Branch, the Skyline Branch, the Renner Frankford Branch and the Arcadia Park Branch. The branch selections were based strictly on data in order to provide a recommendation without biased input, according to Library Director Manya Shorr.
Community meetings were originally scheduled to take place at the recommended flagship libraries across Dallas in late January and early February, but will be rescheduled, according to a statement from the Dallas Public Library.
The survey is now available in English and Spanish to residents and will close Feb. 26.
