Dallas crews have begun installing a concrete barrier to help combat future crashes at a North Oak Cliff roundabout.

Concerns about the safety of the Tyler Street roundabout came to an all-time high after a car went airborne last May, crashing through a home and catching fire. An accident happened prior in February 2025 at the same roundabout, crashing into the front of a neighboring home.

Following the May crash, plastic temporary barriers were put in place. At a community meeting in August on traffic calming solutions, suggestions were made to add a stop sign, speed bumps or traffic signals.

Currently, wooden forms are in place at the roundabout to later be filled with concrete, and once completed, the structure will include a raised dirt planter, according to WFAA.
