The Wildcats (17-3-6) netted their first goal when Ivan Martinez snuck a shot past the Bronchos’ goalie following a throw-in in the first half.

Still clinging to just a one-score lead into the second half, Brody Scott lined up for a penalty kick. He then stepped into the shot and struck the ball into the left side of the net to extend the advantage.

Lake Highlands held onto its 2-0 lead until the final whistle, propelling the Wildcats into the regional finals for the first time since 2022-23. That playoff run ended at the hands of the Allen Eagles.

Now, Lake Highlands is set to face Allen (22-4-1) for a chance at a regional championship at a time and place to be determined. The Eagles are coming off a 1-0 overtime win against Keller in the regional semifinals.
