Amazon is looking for another city to call home. Dallas is hopeful it can woo the e-commerce company.

Our city does have some attractive qualities that may appeal to Amazon. Its population exceeds one million people. Dallas’ economy is stable, and well-known universities are scattered throughout the area. Even U.S. News & World Report ranked the city the 15th best place to live in the country.

But Amazon wants something Dallas doesn’t have: a mass transit system. That alone could sway the company to somewhere like Boston or Denver.

If Amazon is willing to overlook the metroplex’s traffic and DART’s many pitfalls, there’s plenty of options in Dallas for HQ2.  Oak Cliff may be a contender, along with the Valley View mall site.
