Abrams Road from Richmond Avenue to Beacon Street is going to be studied.

Last week, Dallas City Council authorized a professional engineering services contract with HDR Engineering, Inc. to look into traffic safety on the southern end of Abrams. This contract, which also includes traffic signal design services for a handful of non-East Dallas intersections, is not to exceed $991,727 and will be paid for from the 2024 bond funds and the City’s general fund.

“The Abrams Road Traffic Safety Study will help identify targeted solutions to improve corridor safety and mobility,” District 14 Council member Paul Ridley said during the meeting. “Authorizing this contact allows the City to move forward with timely, coordinated safety improvements where they are most needed.”

The City’s Department of Transportation and Public Works has been studying Abrams Road, north of Richmond Avenue, and has been discussing potential solutions. Find out more about it here
