Attorneys will be rocking out next week in Deep Ellum for charity.
The third annual Law Rocks Dallas will take place the night of Thursday, Feb. 26 at Trees. This is a battle-of-the-band contest that raised about $82,000 last year for local nonprofits, according to The Texas Lawbook. Winners are chosen based on total donations garnered, tickets and sponsorships sold, and the judges’ score.
Seven lawyer bands are participating this year, and each has selected an organization to donate to. These nonprofits include A Model Patient, supporting women with breast cancer, near Lakewood and Head Start of Greater Dallas, which provides services to young children and their families and has a few East Dallas locations.
Speaking of local ties, the band Suburban Crime Spree, which is raising money for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Advisory Board, hails from East Dallas. The members include Scott Barnard, Steve Haglund, Frank Waterhouse, Chris Moseley, Kelley Karlseng and Mark Ruibal.
Tickets (available here) are $33.85 for general admission and $108.55 for VIPs, which have the opportunity to attend a reception prior to the show at Vidorra in Deep Ellum.
