Two motorcycles and a submarine fish tank cover the walls, but it’s the special cocktail menu that make customers feel like they’re in paradise. Order your own large entree and family-style sides. Located at 1617 Market Center Blvd., Town Hearth is open Monday-Wednesday from 5-10 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m.

 

Uchi: This Japanese-inspired restaurant’s sophisticated vibe and Instagram-worthy dishes make it the perfect spot for a date night or classy dinner. Not sure what to order? No problem. Uchi offers a tasting menu selected by the chef. Check out the daily sake social from 5-6:30 p.m. There is complimentary valet, so no need to find your own parking. Uchi is located at 2817 Maple Ave. and is open Sunday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m.

 

Javier’s: They say it’s your birthday, you’re gonna have a good time — at Javier’s. This longtime local favorite is sure to put you in the party mood. Established in 1977, the gourmet Tex-Mex restaurant’s longevity can be credited to its large bar and flavorful food. (It even has a cigar bar for an after-dinner delight.) Don’t forget to order the restaurant’s traditional tres leches cake for dessert. Javier’s, located at 4912 Cole Ave., is open Sunday-Wednesday from 5:30-10:00 p.m., Thursday 5:30-10:30 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5:30-11:30 p.m.

 

Al Biernat’s: Like Town Hearth, this is a good old-fashioned steakhouse with large portions and family-style sides, served alongside posh drinks and a romantic atmosphere. With its vast cocktail menu, complete with specialty and seasonal options, be sure to head in for happy hour before dinner from 3:30-7 p.m. Located at 4217 Oak Lawn Ave., Al Biernat’s is open for Sunday brunch from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Lunch is served Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. For dinner, stop by Monday-Friday between 5:30-10:00pm, Saturday 5-11 p.m. and Sunday 5:30-9 p.m.

 

Flora Street Café: Started by the awarding-winning Stephan Pyles, this Southwestern small- plate menu is sure to woo its guests. Order anything from specialty empanadas to hay-smoked oysters. It is located at 2330 Flora St., suite 150. And is open for lunch Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For dinner, it’s open Monday-Thursday from 5:30-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5:30-11 p.m.
